Great conversation with some of the best Twin Cities sports personalities on shows specializing in the big four (Vikings, Wild, Twins and Wolves). Additionally, Jim’s long form interviews, Souhan Uncensored, is a great listen where he gets local sports guests to open up and have candid conversations about themselves and whatever is on their mind.

Simply put, this is the BEST podcast for all things Minnesota Vikings. It is insightlful, informative and entertaining. It can't be missed. The only thing better than the Viking Update Podcast is the Viking Update website, where podcast co-host Tim Yotter is the editor. His work, and that of his staff -- John Holler is a standout writer -- provide the in-depth coverage that so perfectly complements the podcast.

Bottom line: Week to week the Vikings may win or lose, but you can always count on a win from the Viking Update podcast.

The podcast network, and especially the shows with Russo and Souhan, quickly became my favorite MN sports and Wild (and basically every kind of) talk destination. Informed, entertaining, humorous, relatable. I plan to make it to one of the tapings at Hells Kitchen soon.

Really love the idea of this network as a Minnesota sports fan, but the shows have just gotten worse and worse. The ads make up at least 50% of the show, and since each show has about three sponsors, you literally get the same interminable 3-4+ minute ads over and over every week. The hockey show doesn't even talk about hockey anymore. Souhan makes fun of local writing legend Sid Hartman constantly (which is 100% justified), but somehow hasn't realized he is exactly the same guy. He likes people he has relationships with and makes excuses for everything they do, and any team member or front office member that had the gall to not be nice to him during his writing career can't do anything right. Hopefully one of the other local personalities will take the idea of this network and do much better with it.

Jon is so insightful, but I can't listen to Souhan and those constant advertisements. I understand one or two ads because you guys deserve to be paid, but it is just excessive. Please start going on some of the local Wolves podcasts with basketball-oriented hosts who are less entrenched in the Minnesota media so that you delve deeper into some topics Jon! (Locked on, Wolves Wired, Raised by Wolves)
