I feel like Friebe needs to speak about 30% less and allow his co-commentators to engage more fully in the conversations. Given the great roster of journalists and pundits that appear on the show it is sometimes frustrating when it feels like Friebe is having an extended conversation with himself. When that happens, it limits the potential of the podcast which is really to be found in the dialogue BETWEEN all the guests.

I love the way that The Cycling Podcast creates a captivating story and brings the listener into the race. Since finding you last year, I haven’t missed a Grand Tour. I love your style of commentary and the personal stories that you interweave into your show. Thanks for giving us such quality and entertaining content.

Brings the panache of European cycling to the US. Also gives insight into local culture. Great.
Listening to La Vuelta now. Fran is just awesome partnering with Daniel. He brings knowledge of Spain in such a fun and informative way.
Another reason the cycling podcast stands out to me is its use of interviews with riders. They tell the story of the race through the riders words much more than some other cycling focused podcasts.
It’s clear Daniel loves the places he visits as well as the racing. By blending these I feel like I get to go to Italy for the giro, France for the tour and Spain for the Vuelta every year.
While I miss Richard, Daniel has kept the spirit of the podcast and guests like Fran add immensely to it.

Having recently gotten into cycling, I was looking for a podcast to provide some insight on the tour. This podcast and its amicable hosts did just that, providing a rundown of each stage’s happenings with good-faith analysis, humor, and friendliness. I’ll be back for next year’s Tour, heck, I might have to tune in for the Vuelta.
