As a longtime Simmons reader and listener, it’s just a shame that the entire show has basically become a vessel for thinly veiled gambling promotions. Kind of unlistenable unless you’re tuning in specifically for that. (And tbh if I want sports betting content, there are much more insightful voices out there!)
The best sports pod period. I’d like more Rusillo crossover during this time of year because hearing the two of you riff on basketball is my favorite content. Not at the expense of The Cuz because he’s great too. Calm down a bit on Drake Maye. The potential looks great but you constantly say he’s doing it in spite of what’s around him. To frame it your parlance: Are we sure his surroundings will get better before he’s ruined?
Always look forward to these pods- it’s like spending 1.5-2 hrs with a friend who does the long walks, likes Pearl Jam , Celtics, hoops and pro hoops specifically. As an “old head” teacher and coach , I don’t have many to talk deeper pro hoops and what’s happening in NBA. Guests are phenomenal and look forward to varied topics and interests! Love the times you had your dad on during playoffs, coverage with Rusillo, Wylds, Doc and other Ringer hoops guys!Thank you so much! CELTICS and Pearl Jam fan in Tennessee
Thank you Bill for not limiting the episodes to 60 min or less like most podcasts. As a delivery driver nothing makes me happier than to see a 2 hour + episode drop! I know it’s going to make my shift go by much easier!
As a longtime listener, it’s stunning how much less enjoyable this podcast has become. Bill has become lazy and puts in the minimum amount of work watching the leagues he is allegedly a self-proclaimed expert in. His takes on specific NFL/NBA teams are often based on the 1-2 games he has seen and are seen and are often heavily obscured by his desire to root for the Celtics and Patriots. Look elsewhere- you deserve better.
This show has become difficult to listen to. I love Simmons, he’s so knowledgeable. I even love his Boston homerness. But every other reference is gambling, as is every other ad. I’m glad he’s doing well, but the show is just not for non-gambling sports fans anymore.
