A thoughtful podcast that gets me thinking in expanded directions. I shared episodes with family and friends and look forward to it generating fun and lively discussions in the future. How awesome is that! Highly recommended.
Absolutely refreshing podcast that strives for absolute neutrality in reporting and allows the listener to make up his own opinions, keep doing what you’re doing.
Just listened to your pre-inauguration podcast on immigration and I can definitely say my eyes were opened. Several of my questions were answered and I ended with a much more rounded and nuanced understanding of the border problems. I will certainly get Leonhardt’s book. Huge kudos to everyone who participated!
This show does a really amazing job of trying to give a fair and balanced view of current and past events/issues! In a world filled with shouting this show is a calm voice of reason
Some episodes were interesting, but was so disappointed in their JK Rowling episodes I had to unsubscribe. One episode seemed to be a snarky critique of people calling attention to JKR’s transphobia (which suspiciously omitted any of her very public, VERY transphobic tweets/posts from the last several years?) The follow-up episode was a response to one of their critics by way of playing clips of a video she made outlining her criticisms, then… the hosts talking directly past her criticisms and about themselves and their personal views? I actually do think it’s valuable to hear people out on their beliefs and approach with empathy when you can, but there was no attempt to do that in these episodes with the trans folks that were interviewed. At least it was funny to hear someone say “TERF is one of the worst things you can be labeled” or something like that.
