Love it nice full audio not someone just reading a book great to listen to on the road I hope thereās more and the acting is way better than most
Iām enjoying the story but the voice acting is so bad Iām struggling to keep listening. Like, itās comically bad and VERY overdone. Itās a shame too, because Iām really enjoying the story and the nostalgic 90ās setting. If you canāt get past a couple cringe-inducing VAās skip this one.
I found this very different from my usual true crime podcast, but the story lines ate similar. I love the old radio broadcast type of presentation with the various voices of the many characters. The sound effects too are absolutely perfect. I sincerely hope there are many more seasons to come. Thank you!
I'd like to say at least give it a go, but it's pretty obvious it needs some more work. Is way too much of a 'Stranger Things' clone wannabe, and the writing needs some help. Especially a lot of the dialogue - a lot of lines had me cringing. If it's their first released work I'd say keep at it, cause it's a good start.
I made it halfway through Season 1 and Iām getting whiplash from swinging back and forth from āThis show is unbelievably badā to āThis is a passably solid parody of an 80s crime dramaā to āThe junior high class that produced this undoubtedly got Aāsā. Voice acting? So bad it seems intentional. Writing? Same as the voice work. Storyline? Cliched, but so unabashedly and unhurriedly it makes you keep listening, confidently expecting its redemption. Sort of like when a kinda slow friend tells a super drawn out joke and you listen partially irritated but also partially hopeful itāll actually be genuinely funny. Yeah itās like that.
Another reviewer already mentioned this, but this is a rehash of stranger things. This really felt like they wholesale took the plot and characters and repurposed it. Most of the characters have 1 to 1 matches (Eleven = Evie, Hopper = Jack, etc) that have way too many similarities for coincidence. The plot is the same story. The music is going for the same 80s synth vibe. The setting is the same just moving from 80s to 90s. Iām fine with using other work for inspiration, but this felt like it went too far.
