I’m enjoying the story but the voice acting is so bad I’m struggling to keep listening. Like, it’s comically bad and VERY overdone. It’s a shame too, because I’m really enjoying the story and the nostalgic 90’s setting. If you can’t get past a couple cringe-inducing VA’s skip this one.

I found this very different from my usual true crime podcast, but the story lines ate similar. I love the old radio broadcast type of presentation with the various voices of the many characters. The sound effects too are absolutely perfect. I sincerely hope there are many more seasons to come. Thank you!

I really like this show, but I’m also not an audio drama snob. It’s interesting enough and comes out pretty quick for a full audio drama. Yes it can be a bit hokey at times, but hey it’s pretty good for some easy sci fi entertainment. It’s a lot like stranger things tbh, and I’m not mad at it. Can’t wait for more. I hope they do more

Sound Design is top notch. Absolutely amazing how clear and immersive the sound effects are. Though that only takes it so far… Overall the story is campy yet engaging enough to keep me coming back. Its the writing and acting that brings the production down. Writing isn’t strong in season 1 but it’s plain bad in season 2. It makes Disney channel drama sound riveting. Established characters acting way out of line, adults acting like toddlers. It’s one thing for teenagers to not talk to adults about emotional issues. It’s another thing entirely to act like nothing is wrong and pretend they didn’t almost die to a freaking zombie hoard not 2 minutes prior! In a world where both characters know that monsters exist, that’s really bad writing. It’s worth the listen at 1.5x speed if you’ve got nothing else on your radar.

I made it halfway through Season 1 and I’m getting whiplash from swinging back and forth from “This show is unbelievably bad” to “This is a passably solid parody of an 80s crime drama” to “The junior high class that produced this undoubtedly got A’s”. Voice acting? So bad it seems intentional. Writing? Same as the voice work. Storyline? Cliched, but so unabashedly and unhurriedly it makes you keep listening, confidently expecting its redemption. Sort of like when a kinda slow friend tells a super drawn out joke and you listen partially irritated but also partially hopeful it’ll actually be genuinely funny. Yeah it’s like that.
