Amika Mota was a young mother, a midwife, and the daughter of a feminist icon. One night she caused a fatal crash that would separate her from her family and brand her as a criminal. Trapped inside prison, looking for any way out, she gets the call to join an all-female crew of incarcerated firefighters. When the alarm sounds, they drive out into the community on fire trucks as heroes – pulling bodies from crash scenes, saving lives and fighting fire. This podcast is really intriguing! I worked as an EMT for 10 years and found myself struggling with addiction also. This story could very easily have been mine. I related in so many ways. Being a recovering addict, living in a sober house so far from my children has been so difficult and painful. I am 2 years clean and sober, but not being able to hug my babies has been unbearable at times. Thank you to the amazing women who shared their experiences! Thank them for their service! I found this Inspirational and encouraging! ❤️❤️❤️
