Relationships · Sharleen Joynt & Andy Levine
by Sharleen Joynt & Andy Levine
Sharleen Joynt and Andy Levine—aka "Shandy"—combine dating advice and reality show recaps for a fun analysis of modern romance. Sharleen and Andy are two former commitment-phobes who have now been married for over a decade. They don’t believe in fate, soulmates, or The One. So how did they wind up so happily married? They learned the tough dating lessons by living them. Get no-holds-barred, non-judgmental & honest advice from two people who actually have what you want: a fun, blissful partnership. As an iconic former Bachelor contestant, Sharleen brings her insider knowledge (combined with Andy's hilarious commentary) to deliver what are hands-down the best Reality TV recaps in the business. They interview reality TV (or reality-adjacent) couples in double-date style episodes called Love Fests. New episodes drop every Thursday, and during TV seasons, twice a week.

It’s like hanging out with the people you instantly felt like you’ve known forever the first time you met them. Empathetic, funny, insightful, charming. I’ve watched shows for the sole reason of enjoying hearing Sharleen and Andy discuss them.
I really enjoy their podcast each week and really look forward to listening in. They have a very down to earth vibe with great insights and positive energy in each episode. Always funny and engaging content without being over the top. They are the kind of people I want to get relationship advice from since theirs seems so great in a very authentic way.
Fans of Bachelor, Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise, don’t miss Dear Shandy podcasts! This couple offers great analysis and snappy repartee of the adventures of these and other reality show franchises. “ Shandy” combines their first names Sharleen and Andy and this couple is simply straight-up fun. For his part, Andy is very clever and has a Larry David-esque sense of humor. He is also wise beyond his years and has great intuition about people and social situations. He is also one of the luckiest men on earth. His wife, Sharleen is beautiful, intelligent, funny and talented, (she sings opera!) (professionally!) Andy takes all of this in stride, sporting his modest uniform (v neck white t shirt, black jeans and different snazzy socks per episode.) Sharleen is a perfect compliment to Andy, more of the straight-man/narrator here but not always. She can be just as funny as Andy and they are at ease switching up their roles. Sharleen is keenly aware of everything on each program and doesn’t miss a beat. On a recent Bachelor in Paradise, she noticed how a portion of Jesse’s dialogue seemed to be recorded somewhere else. This technical angle is something I know about and would love to discuss with her. She is pure joy, laughing freely, heartily and loudly at Andy's quips. If I have one qualm about his couple is that they are much too effusive in their praise of Bachelor, Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise's music. It's reality show music not Beethoven! They can get off track at times and stray into non-sequitor land. This is so minor however, compared to how much fun and knowledge inspires!
As a long-time Shandy (from all the way back to when Sharleen had “All the Pretty Pandas” column that I read religiously), I absolutely love this podcast! Their Bachelor/ette recaps are always funny, insightful, and entertaining, and they make my long commute to work so much better.
I wanted to find a new Bach podcast, but this one is unlistenable between the woman performatively cackling at her husband’s extremely unfunny “jokes”, the random singing, the condescension, and the endless ads. Keep looking!
