tl;dr: There isn’t one. Because this podcast deserves more than a one-liner for the lazy. Because this podcast isn’t for the lazy. It’s for true connoisseurs of well-written horror fiction. And true enthusiasts pay attention allllll the way to the end.

The only other horror podcasts at this level are the White Vault and Old Gods of Appalachia. Fight me. And speaking of paying attention, just like those podcasts this one is not for putzing around and playing while doing household chores. Like a fine scotch, you have to sip it undisturbed—and in a mood to be disturbed.

The writing is unbelievably good. Production isn’t terrible either but I hope voice actors can be brought in once this takes off. Noticed improvements in the use of background audio in the latest episode and I have high hopes for that being an ongoing feature.

But let’s talk about the writing. It isn’t just pretty good, it’s [redacted]ing amazing and many episodes are really reminiscent of Lovecraftian literary themes of personal inner turmoil and transitional decline to something other than the status quo. Really, the writing is some of the best I’ve seen (or heard) in a long time.

Unlike most podcasts, the author actually knows the words he’s using. I think there’s only been one misused and one mispronounced word in all of his episodes as opposed to 3-5+ per episode for even the most highly rated of horror podcasts. Poor wordsmithing is a pet peeve. And I’ve compared this podcast favorably to one co-written by an English teacher and the other co-written by an Oxford grad with a degree in literature so, again, he’s in rarefied company.

Huge thumbs up for the Rocky Mountain/West backdrops. Having lived and trained in Colorado and its environs it definitely puts the characters and plot in “familiar territory” in my mind’s eye.

I’ve the book in my Xmas wishlist and look forward to reading it—and future endeavors. I will be absolutely shocked if we aren’t listening to a future award-winning NYT best selling author.

Hopefully the author is reading this. If so, great job and get back to writing more ASAP!!!

I absolutely love these episodes. Every time I listen to one I just know it’ll be amazing; and the plot twists at the end are so amazing and clever, my jaw is always on the floor! I always enjoy listening to this podcast, and the storylines are always so good. Phones and AirPods are banned at my school but sometimes I pull them out in some classes just to listen to this podcast. The music in the background is always perfectly timed and adds to the suspense and mood of the dialogue and story. I’m definitely going to listen to every episode, thank you for creating these!!

Some of the best short stories writing I have heard in a long time. Great build up and plots (and plot twists). Wish that there were more episodes because I feel like I am going to burn through all 55 in short time.
