I binged Yellowjackets season 1 and 2 before season 3 aired. I found this great podcast while season 3 was airing. I listened to all of the season 3 podcast and am now listening to season 1 and 2. I’ve tried a few Yellowjackets podcasts and this is by far my favorite! I love the podcasters and how comprehensive and in depth the discussion is! Buzz! Buzz! Buzz!
You misgendered Liv Hewson (young Van) in this week’s episode. You don’t even know their name calling them “that actress”. This is important in respecting the cast that makes this amazing show. It’s been all over the publicity for the show when they decided not to submit themselves for an Emmy because of the lack of place for nonbinary actors.
Just discovered this pod - wish I discovered it season 1. It’s very thorough & well done. Appreciate the calm voices & not speaking over each other. And there is a white lotus pod. I’ve been looking for another one as the WL ringer pod(except Jo) is mostly laughing & talking over each other. Will be tuning in to the Last of Us as well.
Update: Which one of you is saying Mary?! It’s Mari!!! —- This isn’t my top-fave YellowJackets pod, but it’s up there. I neeeeeded more show discourse, and I’m having a lot of fun hearing from this rotating crew of hosts, who seem to get along pretty well and truly enjoy hosting together. My primary complaint is that I just don’t very often agree with their theories — but I guess that’s more my problem than theirs! I also don’t love the episodes without Jason; he provides a much-need sort of “chemistry glue” that guides the pod; I also think he’s there to rein in the other hosts’ sometimes weird/clearly wrong takes. Another note is that their references sometimes feel a little bit too insidery, geared to listeners of other Podcastica pods, but it’s usually not enough to bother me much. All that said, this is a good pod, and I’m glad to have found it. I’d like to know a little bit more about the hosts to help me feel more connected to them — maybe a mailbag or intro episode? Thanks for a great show!
I really struggled with listening to Jason the last two seasons of this podcast and was loving the episode with just female hosts. He seems to talk over everyone and talks way too long. Maybe I’m in the minority but I think four hosts is just too many.
