Unlearned Wisdom by Johnny Chang is one of the most powerful and authentic podcasts I've come across. Johnny’s life experiences, combined with his unfiltered honesty and deep reflection, make every episode impactful. He doesn’t just talk at you—he invites you into his journey, sharing hard-earned lessons and spiritual truths in a way that’s both challenging and deeply encouraging. His perspective is unique, shaped by real struggle and redemption, and it shines through every conversation. If you're searching for wisdom that isn't sugar-coated but rooted in real life and faith, this podcast is a must-listen.
16 yrs of an on and off walk and newly baptized 1- year into consistent relationship with our Heavenly Father, and few months of following your content across the boards, I cannot express how much I have learned, applied and continue to be so very grateful and happy to look forward to this podcast and all of the knowledge you have to share with us. If there’s one main thing I can share that have never much heard of in reading the Bible and hearing sermons throughout the years is “distrusting my thoughts” and to deny yourself daily. Thanks so much for your wisdom and your humility 🩵 Something I would love to hear more about is biblical parenting and of course if you could share your son and how your relationship is with him🤍 -love and respect! 🦋
I saw Johnny on IG and started checking out his posts. Then I searched to see if he was a guest on any podcasts and was surprised to find he had just started one. Keep them coming! I love Johnny’s even temperament and calm voice, paired with the beautiful word of the Lord. I enjoy the unlocks and relate to much of what he’s saying. I’m from SGV also and remember growing up in Rowland Heights with all the Asian gangsters from Wah-Ching. Johnnys telling the truth about what it was like during that time. It’s a true testimony to how Christ will change your heart. I’ve got 2.5 years in recovery and my Higher Power is Jesus Christ. He keeps leading me to water where I can be washed over with His word. Johnny’s podcast is definitely a place for that. Also, would love to hear your mom on the show, and your brother again. Great guests and co-hosts. Shout out to the whole crew for making this happen!
Just listened to the latest episode of Unlearned Wisdom by Johnny Chang and it really hit home. Felt like parts of my own story were being told. Johnny talks about his early walk with Christ, stepping into the church, and leaving the gang life behind. I’ve been through that too. I know what it’s like to feel pulled back into the streets but still sense God working in the background. What I really respect is how real and honest he is. Nothing feels scripted or forced. It’s just straight truth from someone who’s lived it. These are lessons you don’t learn in books or classrooms. They come from pain, growth, and trusting God through it all. If you’re in a place where you’re trying to figure it out or just need a reminder that God is still working in your life, check this one out. It’s worth your time.
