The Red Room

by Voyage Media

From the same team that brought you the #1 hit fiction podcast Elucidity. When a voicemail pulls podcaster Jordan Purcell and producer Lynn McCready into the cold case disappearance of a teenage girl, they see it as a salacious story for clicks. The trail leads through fragments of an Asian urban legend that refuses to stay contained, echoing across witnesses, recordings, and places that shouldn’t be connected. As their podcast gains traction, so do the threats from those who want the past buried and from something that may not belong to the past at all. What they uncover isn’t just a missing person, but something few only whisper about as "The Red Room"... a pattern that fractures their minds and comes for them next.

What listeners say

A curated, balanced selection of Apple Podcasts reviews.

I started listening to this at night and finished with a deep dive into the lore of red room, and the paranormal. The story is utterly CREEPY - and it’s a great listen for the Halloween season or anyone into Asian folk horror that begins with a hint of true crime. Just don’t listen by yourself at night 👻

Wow! Was expecting just a true crime/horror podcast but got engaged in the mystery since it goes beyond that. You can actually explore the missing girl's IG account from years ago! And follow the clues when Jordan and Linn find them. It feels like an augmented reality game rather than just listening to an urban legend story. The creepy analog sound coming from the red room plus the Japanese children’s songs really got me into this. When’s the next season??!!

Misanthrope888 · Oct 2026

I love a good horror story, especially when it starts out feeling like a true crime investigation and slowly turns into something much more disturbing. The Red Room does a great job building suspense and making you want to keep listening. The sound design really adds to the creepy atmosphere, and the story has that feeling that something is wrong even when you can't quite put your finger on what it is. If you're into supernatural mysteries, urban legends, and psychological horror, this one's worth checking out. Definitely listen with headphones!
