This show is so freaking good. It never fails to make me forget about all the stressors in my life, and just let me completely tune out the outside world. Audio quality on some episodes could be better but otherwise this show is perfect

The sound levels on some episodes are so erratic between quiet and loud that it’s impossible to understand, especially when driving. I’ve had to skip quite a few episodes because of this.

Title says it all. I’ve been a fan of SCP for years on the Wikidot site. Started looking for them in podcast form and went through a few shows but nothing brings them to life like this one. The voices, the sound effects, everything makes it so real and immersive while still easy to imagine reading. This sounds crazy but they somehow capture aurally the subtle text effects from the website, like block quotes, italics, indentations, ellipsis, font style changes, etc. This show gets what the heart of SCP stories are and reproduces them in a faithful yet elegantly refreshing way. If you loved reading them you’ll love this show. Sometimes I delay listening until I’m in the right headspace to devote my full attention to draw each detail. Great show, great cast, one of the best channels on Apple Podcasts by far. Love you guys, keep up the amazing work.

This show has great potential, but the volume levels are really terrible. One sentence it is so quiet you literally can’t make out what they are saying, and the next second someone is death screaming. Often times the added sound effects (typing sounds, door open and close, alarms going off, etc) are much louder than the actual narration, so you can’t actually make out what is being said. Additionally the volume levels are dramatically different between the various voice actors, there’s no consistency. I would listen to this pod every night if the mixing was done with more care. I like to fall asleep to scp stories, but this podcast misses the mark, especially compared to others available.

Despite the high quality of the audio, this podcast has a serious problem with volume. I have to constantly adjust the volume just enjoy an episode. For an audio only medium that is a serious issue. It’s like all the actors and all the sound effects and all the music are all on different levels and the editor got lazy and decided that leaving everything sounding too loud or too quiet was just the right amount of chaos that this podcast needed.
