Spanish for Beginners

by Linguistica 360

Our Get Up To Speed (G.U.T.S.) course is a fun and innovative course designed to help you solidify the basics, with dialogues, stories, lessons, and quizzes. Our goal here is to start at zero Spanish and then end with the ability to continue as a regular listener of "News in Slow Spanish" (www.NewsInSlowSpanish.com). We'll start slow and will gradually pick up the pace as we go. In fact, in the first lesson, we promise you… yes, PROMISE you that you will be able to understand an entire paragraph in Spanish through the magic of cognates and learning just two simple verbs. Sounds impossible? See for yourself: https://www.newsinslowspanish.com/latino/series/guts/0/wow/1

What listeners say

A curated, balanced selection of Apple Podcasts reviews.

I am a 60 year old college student completing my BA. I got an A in Spanish 1 (Required Classes!) But I got a 61 on my first Spanish 2 exam después de estudio 16 hours! I am so lost and stuck w prepositions, irregular stem changing verbs, multiple tenses. This podcast is much more ayudar than my school book and lesson notes. I think I might get unstuck. Starting with the cognates was magnifico!

Thank you for this! I took four years of Spanish in high school but after that I was just using Duolingo on and off, which is helpful but I’m more advanced than the Duolingo beginner. I finally took an adult online class which was so helpful, but that just ended and I honestly didn’t prioritize studying for the class, so I love how digestible/practical this podcast is. I love the refreshers like ser vs estar - things I learned in high school but definitely need to start practicing again. It also boosted my confidence! Thank you!

I’m thrilled to have discovered this podcast. I now feel empowered as I’ve struggled and struggled but in the first few lessons, especially Ser/Estar I began to understand. I enjoy the interaction between the hosts. The humor and fun is infectious and I believe it is a valuable tool in teaching. Thank you thank you

This is a great podcast. I have some knowledge of Spanish from years back when in high school and college so intro classes are always too boring. I can never seem to get past, Hola, me llamo es..... without losing interest. And total conversational Spanish is too difficult. This podcast hits that middle spot. They provide grammar lessons with a lot of conversational Spanish thrown in context. And they translate some of the more difficult phrases. This is by far the best Spanish podcast I’ve listened to.
