This was both honest and informative. The narrator was not only willing to be open and vulnerable to sharing her very personal story, but also proactive in trying to help others who have been or are in abusive situations. She did extensive research and interviews various experts on a variety throughout each episode in order to provide helpful information. Her story deserves a listen because she’s brave enough to tell it. It’s inspiring to see someone trying to help themselves while also wanting to help others. I appreciate her sharing her story.
A great balance between the personal story and credible information about sexual abuse in families. Highly recommend listening to eatery episode.
Great narration, very well produced, excellent music choice. Casefile has consistently produced top notch podcasts. I hope this helped all of those involved in healing, and helps others who may be struggling with similar issues.
this was difficult to listen to, but as a survivor of child sexual abuse and seeing how it impacted my own life, I could really empathize with Raquel, Gabriel, Glenn. Listening to their stories and how it followed them throughout their lives and then finding their path to healing felt... empowering. Thank you for sharing your stories, I hate that you and your loved ones have gone through these horrific acts from people you should’ve been able to trust. Sending you all love, thank you for opening up to us.
The story was interesting and hard to listen to, which I think was good (based on the subject matter), but the hosts delivery sounds extremely tired and bored. This was so distracting that it made it difficult to focus on the subject. I respect her and her families ability to be open about their experiences. Unfortunately I felt like it was forced in the direction of her story when there where many more extreme events occurring outside of her personal experience. Her voice is so emotionless and monotone and it’s such a huge contrast to all of the accounts she delivers. I finished it, but I wouldn’t listen to anything else by the creator.
This is the first 1 star review I have gave. I typically enjoy a broad variety of opinions and topics. To be fair to the podcast creator I only listened to 18 minutes of the first episode. I really wanted to like this but the amount of subjective experience being treated as truth was a real bummer. Some people may like this but if you require empirical evidence before you believe something you probably won’t.
