Resurrection

by Dane Stewart

Season Two: Heroes of the Early Years. Out now—new episodes released weekly. This season tells the stories of individuals who shaped the earliest response to AIDS in New York and San Francisco. Years before ACT UP burst onto the scene, these people did everything they could to get the gay community, the medical establishment, and the public to care about AIDS. The presenting sponsor of this season is Freddie, Canada's #1 PrEP provider. To learn more about PrEP and to book your free consultation with Freddie, visit gofreddie.com/dane. Hosted on Acast. Excellent storytelling. Such depth and compassion for those with whom and about whom they speak to share this experience. Wonderful to see use of such a unique but relatable person as the center of the story. Can’t wait to listen to the second season!

I adored this podcast from beginning to end. It was so beautifully and thoughtfully created and executed. What an incredible tribute to a phenomenally complex and imaginative man. I feel like I got to know Daryl so thoroughly — I listened to the whole podcast twice. Absolutely recommend this podcast to anyone and everyone. The podcast also helped me process my own grief for those I’ve lost

This is an outstanding work, capturing one of the many stories of lives lost too soon… of love and pain and conflict and joy and, mostly, of connection. It’s a story of how one man lived and impacted those around him in ways he couldn’t have imagined. And how hearing of his life impacts us, the listener. I smile knowing that Daryl lives on in those of us who heard his story. The LGBTQ+ community lost so many of our forebears, stories and memories lost to time. Dane Stewart has done a beautiful job resurrecting one of those stories. It is worth your time.
