What listeners say

I truly enjoy this podcast - it took me a couple of episodes to really understand the premise but once I did I was hooked. Biz, Sam, and Alexi are so well informed with really impressive knowledge of art and fashion that totally draws you in. Can’t get enough - guess I'm a nymphet alumnus 👩🏻‍🎓

biz, alexi, and sam are cool, intelligent, funny, deeply likeable hosts with excellent chemistry and great taste. i am a hater by trade, but it is kind of impossible not to love these girlies and this podcast. a lot of cultural analysis podcasts fall into the trap of becoming overly self-indulgent and esoteric, but nymphet alumni tackles niche subject matter in a way that feels really genuine and makes listeners feel like they're part of the conversation. ngl i envy the teenage girl who stumbles upon this podcast and meets the version of herself that made it out of the suburbs. when i was a nymphet we had to settle for rookie mag.

i adore this podcast and it’s fun to throw on and unwind/work out to. i seriously don’t get the negative reviews talking about how they’re stupid or don’t know what they’re talking about, or even the ones calling them mean. i especially don’t understand the reviews referencing them to red scare… we all have a little mean girl inside of us, all the members of NA are young, well-educated and bright, and this is literally free content. but i guess haters are fans too. i really don’t want to sound like a white knight. i do wish their audio quality is better, sometimes i wished there was more content or in depth references and links to what they were saying (i think they do this on patreon), but overall, i think they’re doing a stellar job foraging a voice for gen-z. love live nymphet alumni! saranghae 💓

BOURGEOlS · Mar 2023

I love to listen to this podcast because the topics are very interesting and relevant. The hosts are clearly educated and make poignant connections and commentary. After listening to the most recent episode “That Girl”, I wanted to give some feedback. Amidst interesting conversation about this phenomenon, there was a discussion point of whether or not That Girl is actually hot. The hosts go into how she’s not hot, and that some of them are pretty, but only because they pay attention to beauty trends. I’m paraphrasing, but it felt really weird to me? Sometimes this pod goes into mean girl territory. It’s fine to have casual banter like this because of the format of the show, but saying things that are super judgmental and not always fair, or coming at topics from a place of superiority, makes me consider the rest of what you’re saying a lot less. It feels pointless and just shows the bias so heavily. I don’t know… maybe a dose of empathy would make this show 5 stars to me.

nymphetalum · Jul 2022

Everything in me wanted to like this podcast because they address relevant and interesting topics as well as looking at the subject from a lot of lenses. However, the hosts come across as really pretentious and judgemental and their superiority complex toward other people who are just trying to live is really frustrating to hear. As some other people pointed out, they’re just mean and not even in an entertaining way.

nmjlistenstopodcasts · Jul 2022

i listened to around 4-5 episodes and while i enjoyed the first few about american apparel & tumblr sleaze, they do not have the range to talk about like…anything racialized. their description and interpretation of hot girl summer was not only weird & wrong, but felt microaggressive. hgs was not just about sleeping around & being a city girl, that was one piece of it. megan thee stallion, herself, said it was about being the best version of you whether that be twerking on a yacht or getting a degree. obviously they are white women, and probably don’t listen to megan thee stallion but they should be more mindful of how they present their topics. (esp when its clear they went to tik tok for a definition instead of the source) they treat these internet topics so seriously but for some reason not this one. this was the episode that made me stop listening but i hope yall have either grown and learned or stopped talking about black women entirely. (also yall being weird about ms blob girl talking about her body/appearance??? be so fr )
