Reaching Out

by Futuro Media

Hailed by Ira Glass as the “best new show I’ve heard in years,” and winner of the Audio Memoir Award of the Tribeca Film Festival, Reaching Out is a story about fathers, sons, and the distance between. The story begins on the eve of twin brothers’ Sayre and Connor’s 30th birthday, when they set out to find the biological father who abandoned them before they were born. Their search pulls them through desert raves, drunken nightclubs, and across borders of time and language, forcing the brothers to confront the truths they’ve hidden from each other and themselves. And it’s not long before the twins discover that their father is closer than they ever could have imagined.  Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

I was hooked after the first episode, but the last three were truly unforgettable. The honesty captured in the layered family communication was messy and beautiful. The show left me scanning my own life for the places where I might be searching for something that has been with me all along.

RXL837 · Oct 2026

This was a very well done podcast. Thank you for sharing the intimacies of your story. I also very much enjoyed the sound and music. It was very relaxing.

Railanger · Oct 2026

I did like this podcast. It was worth my time. This was made by a younger person and so when I felt annoyed I tried to stay with it. Ultimately I am impressed. There were moments where I almost checked out because it seemed belabored. And there were moments where it was very worth it. I appreciate the participation of family members, this lent to an authenticity. Who ever scored this podcast should get an award. The score was absolutely fantastic.
