They know their antics and shenanigans but their funny self deprecating humor is perfect. I have never laughed so hard at a podcast so many times. The one liners are killer. These guys are good people. They are family men, and treat everyone they meet, online or in person with love and kindness. 69/10 recommend.

I love true crime and the Basement Yard podcast, and this pod looked like it would be a combo of the two, so I checked it out! Unfortunately, after listening to HALF of an hour long episode, they STILL haven’t gotten to the true crime story of the title. Also—they’re super insensitive and ill-informed. I tried to listen to a different episode, and they managed to use quite a few outdated and offensive terms in the span of like 20 minutes (like “midget” for one example, and referring to the person in a really sexual and gross way) and kept referring to women in derogatory ways and calling them “whores” and “females” (very incel behavior, guys :/ ). As a feminist dude, it makes me really annoyed when other guys talk about women that way. I didn’t hear anything explicitly homophobic, but they do make so many jokes referring to anal and gay sex in a negative light, so it makes me feel like if i kept listening, they’d likely say something homophobic or anti-LGBTQ+ pretty quick. They also made fun of furries a TON in the furry episode, using unoriginal jokes like “get a job” and stuff like that. Also in that episode, they snickered at and made fun of autistic people. Not cool. Despite saying they were “just joking around, don’t take anything we say seriously,” what you say has weight, guys—and you can’t just write off being a jerk as “but i was just kidding!! pls don’t hate on me 🥺” Maybe just don’t joke like that in the first place? Call me a snowflake or “not taking the joke” or whatever, but if you have to degrade someone, especially for who they are (such as race, sexuality, gender, etc) in order to be funny, then you are a bad comedian. Be better than that, guys, come on. If you like this pod for the humor, go listen to The Basement Yard podcast instead. In my opinion, they’re WAAAAY funnier, and they’re also super respectful of all people groups but in their own quirky and funny way.

I’ve been listening to this pod for years. You guys say some stupid stuff and I listen to it cuz I’m stupid too. But this Paul Pelosi episode… this is different from the regular crime stories you tell. All this stuff you guys were laughing about is propaganda put out there by right wing extremists from day one. It takes 5 minutes on google to debunk this stuff. We are in a scary time where politicians and ordinary people are getting beaten and killed for their politics… and this is one of those stories. Right wing trolls were joking about this after it happened, making fun of violence so they can justify it. Can’t believe you guys are laughing too. You guys talk about love and getting along with each other. You don’t see what you’re doing here? Not trying to go all Dan brown on you, but you know it’s bad out there and I had to say it. I’ve listened to every episode and had a lot of laughs over the years but this is farewell guys. Sincerely wishing you both the best.
