Proof: A True Crime Podcast is a serialized investigation into cases of potential wrongful conviction. Season 2: The second season of Proof: Murder at the Warehouse takes Susan Simpson and Jacinda Davis to Manteca, CA where they reinvestigate the murder of 18-year-old Renee Ramos. On June 5, 2000, Ramos’ body was found buried under a pile of debris inside the shell of a new Home Depot building. Despite tips hinting at alternate suspects - tips that were ignored until now - Renee’s boyfriend, 18-year-old skateboarder Jake Silva, and Ty Lopes, the 33-year-old uncle of one of Jake's close friends were arrested for her murder. The questionable testimony of a 14-year-old boy was the key evidence used to convict them both to life in prison. Twenty-three years after Renee Ramos was murdered, Jake Silva remains in prison and maintains he is innocent. In season two of Proof: MURDER AT THE WAREHOUSE, Susan and Jacinda travel the streets of Manteca, reinvestigating the case against Jake and Ty – and in the process uncover long-overlooked evidence about what really happened to Renee Season 1: In season one of Proof: RUSSIAN ROULETTE Susan Simpson and Jacinda Davis reinvestigate the murder of Brian Bowling. On an October night in 1996, a gunshot rattles the walls of a double-wide trailer on the outskirts of Rome, Georgia. 15-year-old Brian Bowling is laying on the floor of his room, head bleeding from a gunshot wound. By the next morning, Brian is dead. Investigators quickly conclude that Brian’s wound was self-inflicted, the tragic result of teenage bravado. And yet within six months, two friends are arrested and accused of plotting to kill Brian. Cain Joshua Story and Darrell Lee Clark are convicted and sentenced to life in prison. An evil teenage plot? A horrible tragic accident? Or, a blatant miscarriage of justice? In this first season of PROOF, Susan and Jacinda drive the back roads of Rome, searching for the truth. This podcast serves an invaluable purpose: to bring justice to a world where justice is a game. The beauty of it is that these women podcasters (and they mostly seem to be women who do this sort of tireless work) take the time and effort to do a real investigation and get to the truth. Whereas the under-qualified detectives cobble together whatever story they can make stick. And the DA just wants another point in the win column. After listening to this podcast, I immediately donated to the Innocence Project.

I really enjoyed this production. I started with season 2. Now I have to go back and listen to season 1! I feel like podcasts that are made like this - more of conversation and dialogue with presenters that sound like real people telling a story. I don’t like podcasts that sound too scripted and too overdramatized music. Just tell the story!

The most incredible investigative podcast. Season 1 was unbelievable. I am truly impressed and moved by the dedication of Susan, Jacinda, Kevin, Dan and many others who refused to give up on justice! For anyone out there reading this, please never forget, no matter what legal situation you or a loved one are pulled into, ALWAYS get an attorney first before speaking to detectives. By talking to a detective without an attorney present, you are helping the detectives do their job and close a case and anything you say CAN and WILL be used against you.

This is by far the best true crime series that I’ve ever heard or seen. The attorneys go into great detail of how EXACTLY the court system works! Talking about the motions, the DA, the judges, the witnesses, and the defendants. It shows how the prosecutors don’t really care if you’re innocent or not , only if they think they can get a guilty verdict. Prosecutors needs to be held accountable when they do things like this but they’re not. On a different note, I’ve seen some reviews saying these episodes and seasons are too long…… they are not. That’s why this is a podcast and not a movie; podcast are supposed to be long and ongoing, that’s why it’s a podcast people. It goes in great detail to give the average person a clear look into the mostly corrupted justice system.
