Tyler and Sean do the best job keeping us updated on the latest with the team: a good balance of news and analysis on both the current team and recruiting.
Tyler absolutely crushes it, especially for a RU grad :) He’s so well prepared, has a great attitude and approach, and has insights that would lead you to believe he’s been following this team longer than just a few years.
Sean is a true insider; you’re not going to find anyone else with more intel on the team. sometimes I wish he would be a little less cagey and speak more directly/candidly - but I get he has to walk a fine line to maintain his sources, drive traffic to the site, and get more premium subs. He has a great football mind, is a good evaluator of talent, and clearly a rising star in the industry.

Excellent production with well-researched opinions, differentiated content and timely guests. Must listen for crazed PSU fans.
Big picture question for you two. The 2022 recruiting class has as much program leveling-up potential as any PSU has signed since Derrick Williams and Justin King committed. With PSU off to a strong start in the 2023 class, what appears to be the deepest coaching staff James Franklin has ever had, and positive words on the faculties and NIL fronts the future looks bright.
However, 2022 was another year where PSU lost their games close. On one hand perhaps an indication of the overall talent level, on the other a continuation of a trend under Franklin. It seems fair to say Franklin himself has significant room for improvement as a game day coach. His clock management, propensity to be overaggressive with risky play calls and record on the road or after losses is a concern. Given the new contract he is not going anywhere and that’s exciting - but what does HE need to do to improve on game day? Increased talent with the Jimmys and the Joes will of course make the staff look smarter - but is Franklin himself good enough with his game day coaching to get PSU over the hump in close games?

They do an excellent job on all aspects of Penn State football. Very professional and there comments are well thought out and are very informative and entertaining. Just one thing I don’t care about it’s when they talk to a person that covers the opponent we are playing don’t really care about hearing about the other team would rather have more minutes diving into more PSU football news inside and outs

Great content—love the show. 247 has the best Penn State coverage and recruiting info in general, and the podcast is no different. I listen to two other 247 FBS podcasts and this is by far the best of the three.
Question: Since the 2018 class, Penn State is 0-fer with in-state kids above .900 on the 247 Composite, including 2021, with only one 2021 kid even leading the current Crystal Ball. What gives with in-state recruiting, especially in the loaded 2021 class? The 2018 class gave fans the feeling they’d start winning these elite recruiting battles, but they’ve swung and missed on almost every high-end kid they’ve gone after since then, even in PA.
