What listeners say

A curated, balanced selection of Apple Podcasts reviews.

Come for the thoughtful, funny, and in-depth Stephen King analysis; stay for the meditations on crazy frog’s dingus as a precursor to today’s poisoned information ecology. Like Michael’s mom, I too thought crazy frog was just nude as part of the crazy frog overall brand strategy- Cameron & Michael taught me that I was living a lie. You learn something new every day. 5 stars

This is the only pod I’ve ever re-listened to episodes of. You guys have gotten me to watch at least 40 Steve adaptations over the past 2 years and I read Salem’s Lot (hey Michael, it’s good…) I read Bag of Bones & It back in the day too. Your chemistry is terrific, you guys are funny and thoroughly entertaining and insightful, and I appreciate this podcast more than I could ever say. I’ve recommended it to at least 15 friends and 1 aunt. Maximum Overdrive is an awful movie though that’s the only thing we disagree on! (But I get it it’s fun, that giant green goblin truck is fun and Lisa Simpson is in it). I think we also love David Lynch equally and I’d love to hear you guys do a limited series pod on his films. I wrote this for Steve!

Every time someone mentions reading Stephen King I have to recommend this podcast in return. Cameron and Michael are so enjoyable to listen to that as soon as an episode is over I miss their voices and want to start the next book in my King journey just so I can listen to them again. Their insights and background information on King and the books is fascinating; it is not uncommon for me to enjoy the Just King Things episode more that it’s companion book.

Rating Just King Things has become a favorite podcast of mine and hopefully the math checks out. +1 star for incisive and hilarious literary discussions of Steven king’s books, in chronological order. +1 star for finding new (old) Steven King books to enjoy. +1 star for Cameron’s scathing reviews of Bob Dylan songs. -1 star for Cameron’s scathing reviews of Beatles songs. +1 star for Maxwell’s Silver Hammer and the Crazy Frog cover of Axel F being rated THE greatest songs of all time. +1 star for the highly anticipated upcoming Cousin Itt themed podcast, “THIS IS ITT.” +1 star because THE METHOD. PAYS. OFF. I’d say that adds up 5 stars. This show is amazing; I look forward to every month’s episode.
