What listeners say

A curated, balanced selection of Apple Podcasts reviews.

Such an incredibly interesting, engaging, and well-informed podcast. I always download episodes when I travel so I can enjoy even as I wait at airports and such. Thank you Tabby for being such a brilliant scholar, great role model for girls who have no hope looking up to contemporary culture.

I thoroughly enjoy your episodes and have been buying and reading books you discuss, some for the first time. Thank you for rekindling a desire to enjoy a great story with your delightful takes on these classics.

Love this podcast! Already loved Dominic from the Rest is History. He and Tabby are a good pair. I’m learning so much even if I have not read the book.

I have never before written a review of a podcast and likely will never again; but when a podcast is so engaging and enjoyable as ‘The Book Club’ one must do what one can to encourage more and to thank it’s producers and hosts. The success of the podcast is, I think, due in equal measure to the sometimes opinionated but unfailingly considerate discussion between two hosts - each of whom enjoys reading - but who also seem to enjoy one another’s company despite their obvious differences. Add to the mix the seeming lack of concern for the passing of time in recording and it is very like eavesdropping on lengthy, bookish conversations among friends. It speaks to their enthusiasm that I might consider reading ‘Little Women’ or ‘Game of Thrones’. Someday. Maybe.
