Gaming podcasts can tend to be really cringey at times or just bad. Game Scoop! has been a consistently informative and fun podcast for YEARS. The host is a pro, and the panel is always so well informed and passionate about games. Damian and crew, thank you for the years of entertainment, and for the years ahead. Scoop!
This show is the OG. Obviously it has already evolved several times in the years since its inception; however, I just wanted to compliment the current gang - specifically for the listener episode on 19 June 2025. The conversation surrounding the relative ethical incentives of an independent editorial staff vs. a YouTuber interfacing with games publishing houses today was very insightful. Great analysis, as always.
The show lacks topical cohesion as of late. What made the show great was reviewing gaming topics from all platforms equally and partially unbiased, but lately it’s only been reserved for non-gaming personal matters or spoiling every movie and game they consumed the week prior. The show needs topical show notes and discussions rather than unscripted maundering of key events that impacted the source material.
I have been listening for a while now! And I absolutely love your reviews and game talk. As a part time streamer I miss my games at work but you help keep me in the mode while doing so! Also got me playing Expedition 33 and IM IN LOVE. Only game to ever make me want to cry right at the opener.. you guys are awesome!
As a long time listener I just removed the from my subscribe list. 2 minutes of ads in the beginning and then 4 minutes of ads in the middle. Recently this podcast has just turned into an awful experience the amount of ads. The content is good, but not worth the headache. This is the same reason I would never in 1 billion years use IGN without ad blocker. Completely unusable.
The show is great, but the amount of ads, their length and frequency are really becoming too much to where I’m skipping large chunks or episodes all together. Too jarring for when they are cut in.
