I’m a podcast enthusiast that’s addicted to video games and this show is the highlight of my week. Yes, I’m a loser, but I have excellent taste in podcasts and this crew does it better than anyone else in the medium, especially gaming. Knowledge and entertaining hosts and I really appreciate how they remain playful and real with some politically sensitive stuff in 2021, other podcasts sound robotic and unoriginal because they’re too scared get near a line in the sand. These folks are just unapologetically genuine and I appreciate it!

But Nate needs to calm down. I don’t even disagree with the points he makes. But frankly, if you want to scream and yell and get angry, do it elsewhere.
It’s a video game podcast that’s intentionally kept pretty light. And I don’t condone bullying of anyone for leaks - and again, I agree that it’s wrong how seriously people take things like Mario remakes. But frankly, he’s uncomfortable to listen to. And not in some sort of informative way.
If I wanted to hear someone yell and be angry directly in my ear, I’d spend a weekend with my abusive father. I know the gimmick is he’s angry and he goes on tangents. But it’s not a comfortable listen. I’m sorry. Maybe it’s my fault for misconstruing the podcast for being something it isn’t. I’m not a “keep politics out of xyz” kind of person, because politics is in everything. But as a whole, the anger is not an endearing personality trait. Frankly, I’m worried for how angry you do get.
I’m not trying to come down on anyone. Honestly. It’s nothing personal. And I don’t wish ill on him or the channel. But he’s really negative. Not negative in that “I don’t like his reports” but negative in “you’re making me sad.” I’m severely prone to depression. So I get it. Maybe that amplifies it. But everyone here is for the most part keeping things light, and when they tackle serious topics, it’s done with some nuance. It just feels like a lack of maturity. I can’t be the only one uncomfortable with just all the sighs and the moping. It’s a bad vibe when really everyone else is a joy.
I’m not privy to the harassment and stupid comments these personalities get. So in a way, I try to keep that perspective. I get a bit tired of antagonizing chat. And I get a bit tired of “chat” being some entity everyone comes down on (I’m not in chat, I listen next day). But hey, people are stupid. I’m sure these people get hundreds of idiotic and hateful comments a day. The internet gives people a platform they don’t deserve. I’m sure it’s frustrating. So that stuff, I get.
However, again. With Nate, I’m not mad he shoots down rumors or keeps his perspective realistic. It’s his job as someone with sources to navigate those waters and report what he knows. I’m sure he’s got some valuable industry insight. But he just comes off as the mopey and depressing friend in the group. As a weekly listener, it begins to get grating. He makes good points, but it really triggers depression in me. I’m sure this will just be the butt of some joke, like I’m some irrational “hater.” But, it’s a concern. And not that one person tuning out will matter. He makes me sad. He triggers depression and reminds me of a lot of anger and cynicism I had to be around growing up

The show can be an interesting and diverse dive into gaming news and events. With so many personalities, you get a great spectrum of opinions and input. This does lead to one large problem that can push an episode to unlistenable, though. The moderator is unable to manage so many people and a topic can quickly devolve into five or six people screaming over one another for extended durations of time. Worth a listen, but this issue is holding the show back.

Feels like a big community just having a good time talking about games with some good banter and growing cast. Funny, informative, entertaining. Great in audio and video.

Loved John’s show and his podcast, The issue is he lets all these random YouTubers join the podcast. It just becomes one giant cluster of voices and the quality went out the window. A typical episode consists of random rants and what they bought at the store.
