Don’t normally review podcasts but this one I put on every single day as a housekeeper, and I have to explain to my clients why I burst out laughing while cleaning the toilet. Truly so funny, and also not overstimulating.
Love listening to Charlie and Natalie. So funny and relatable. My only qualm is that Charlie’s voice is seriously so beautiful and whenever he breaks out into song it makes me angry that Natalie is being so relaxed and nonchalant about it. Charlie has such a beautiful voice with so much control and a fabulous tone. Where is Charlie’s musical theater career??????????? I’d like an ep of just Charlie singing. Thanks.
Dear Charlie and Natalie, I am writing this fan mail today because every single point from your episode “Manhattan Stores” felt extremely potent on the day that I listened to it. I was in New York, where I don’t currently live, on what felt like the first day of Spring. Everybody seemed totally tuned in and connected to one another… When I turned on the Exploration Live on the train I was so delighted by this batch of your reflections on the human experiences. You guys were on fire! I truly believe that weaving together earnestness and humor is the key to deep connection and understanding, and your podcast does that so beautifully. Here are the things that I liked the most: -winter in Paris theme of cooking class, readiness cues -feeling kind of bad about telling stories in a public way about people in your life -the way termpurpedic seems when you are a kid and how you start worrying about other stuff as an adult but then come back to enjoying the pleasure of the vacuum -Natalie’s impression of Dorit was so funny and I don’t even know who that is -the way that people’s way of taking notes can be beautiful by the way—what was the name of the store in Soho with the Italian lady who has lipstick on her face? I didn’t catch it- but would love to become a patron there… Thanks for everything and keep being you! Sarah
Charlie and Natalie have such an ease in conversation. They are truly yin and yang. I find so much joy in this podcast and learning about the hosts in general. The double slime twin episode nearly cost me my job do to laughing out loud. I also love the episode “Matrons Chair” where Charlie paints a visual of waking up in the shadow of a tree and ambling to a river and then says “This is Exploration Live”. Both hosts are incredible and actually uncovering new territory in the podcast space. They are my Lewis and Clark. The podcast is also always over an hour which I really like. Theme music rocks. I love how it feels like I’m in New York with these two rascals when they talk about their day to day. 10/10.
