This podcast is incredible. Having attended Cal Poly from ‘97-‘02 as an engineering student, I was shocked at how little I knew about Kristin Smart’s case. This high quality investigative journalism pulled all the fragments into one place and created a movement that led to a conviction, over a quarter century after the fact . Women are safer because of Chris’s work. Well done, well done.

I inhale true crime podcasts like a horse drinks water, and this is some of the best journalism I've heard yet. It's incredible the lengths he goes to in order to reclaim this story and expose what really happened. We need more journalists like this, and this really does put podcasts in a great light.

The best podcast I have ever listened to. Chris Lamber’s investigative reporting and interviews were riveting and heart-wrenching. I’m fairly picky with “true crime” podcasts and rarely find one that I don’t abandon after an episode or two — I couldn’t stop binge-listening to this one and have yet to find any new podcasts *this* good 👏👏👏

Your Own Backyard is everything a great true crime investigation should be. It’s thorough. It’s expertly presented. And it actually achieves an outcome. I can think of no better example of true crime that actually moves the ball forward. There are many great true crime investigations. This one sits with the best.
