Murder in the Heartland is your podcast for small-town American crime. Each episode is told through the collective point-of-view of a Middle American town and its residents, and every story documents a town and people in the heart of the country, and the provocative crime that tore through it. The townspeople are not only the storytellers, but they also hold the clues to the crimes that have forever changed their lives, and how they understand their home. Also, go back and listen to episodes of Hot & Deadly. Featuring some of ID’s most salacious stories against the backdrop of coast-to-coast wetlands, the open road, and the mysteries of the deep South, Hot & Deadly is direct audio from three hit ID series: Swamp Murders, Highway To Hell, and Southern Fried Homicide. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

The podcast is well written with excellent commentary . The interviews within the story are woven in the podcast smoothly. I’d like to hear the narrator share about herself or her thoughts during the show to feel more connected to the podcast. Keep up the great work.
Great podcast! I love how this podcast is so similar to the ID shows with the re-enactments and different characters! It keeps me intrigued! It’s not like listening to an audio book with just the same voice over and over!
Devastating stories shared using non-cheesy reenactments. Enjoying it so far. **Just finished binge-listening & I’m so sad to see there hasn’t been an episode since September!! The tragic cases had me sitting in shock, disbelief or breaking down sobbing. Really hope you continue to share these stories.
This well done production will captivate you from the start! Produced with a perfect blend of interviews and southern style narration; each production will capture your interest from the beginning. If you like podcasts along the lines of Dateline, this is one you don’t want to miss!
This used to be so good. The narrator had the best voice but recently he hardly ever speaks and it is just a compilation of witnesses speaking. It’s not enjoyable to follow along and I the don’t know the relation of the speakers to the victim. Go back to old format, please.
