I love exploring different types of podcasts, and this one is a gem! If you enjoy shows like 20/20, you’ll love this — it’s so engaging, you’ll want to keep listening. It’s perfect for the car or while getting ready for work. I can’t wait to dive into the rest of the episodes!

I feel like details were missing from this telling. It is extremely difficult to understand how anyone was convicted. How is the brother’s eye witness disregarded? Were any of the suspects hand/foot prints compared with what they found at the scene? What about the items of Holly’s found day 1- were they ever tested for DNA? If not at the time, did they keep those items safely so they could be tested in the future? I don’t know if this podcast is just vague, or if the case was really that bungled. It’s soooooo infuriating feeling like Holly’s killer may not have been identified. I feel like this podcast didn’t deep dive as much as I’d like it to. It was unclear as to when the neighbor heard the scream, when they called vs when her brother saw someone he thought looked like Hollys boyfriend. How did he describe this man’s height weight hair etc and we have NEVER heard what Holly’s bf looks like? Were they remarkably similar? Anyway. Mediocre telling and frustrating for listeners. I just hope the family has some peace with how things have turned out. I feel so bad for them, and for what happened to Holly.

This goes more into depth than the 20/20 episode, but it stops short of the in-depth coverage Dana McLendon and Dr. Katie Spirko provide in their Trial & Error podcast on the same subject. Short of Trial & Error, which is exceptional, this is probably the next best podcast coverage of this very tragic, complicated case.

I listen to a lot of true crime and this is by far the best. I’ve heard so far. Even if you don’t listen to true crime, this story is a must for anyone.
Well, thought out and planned… So thorough… and has an actual purpose!
Great work team!

This is the third “true crime” podcast from 20/20 I’ve listened to. I guess I kept thinking it MUST get more interesting at some point—any of them—especially given 20/20’s rep on TV. ~Hope springs eternal.~ Never happened. Not much substance. No real new info. No “smoking gun.” A LOT of repetition & emotional fluff. All were long and drawn out and the cadence in which they’re narrated is *painfully* slow. And it’s disjointed. I even tried listening at 1.5 speed. It just made for fast boring episodes. All three could’ve been done in ONE episode if done right.
**ALSO… there was a teaser in the trailer… someone saying something like “you hear him talk about it (the Holly Bobo case) and you realize “ohhh HE knows more/he did it!”” **That was the “hook.” It was NEVER brought up again in the entire series! WHO said it?!? What did he say, exactly? That’s just straight up false advertising to get folks to keep listening. It worked on me.
20/20 needs to work on their podcast game or give it up.

I thought this podcast might present some sort of new insight or info, instead it is the same old basic facts from the case, presented with lots time-stretching repetition. These boys aren’t innocent. There is no new info. I was so disappointed. So much looping and rehashing. The narrator has particularly distracting halting cadence to her speech that made this a difficult listen.
