The Ramsey Show

Love the show. It has given me a different perspective on how to approach paying off debt and saving for the future. It’s eye opening to see how much America is struggling with debt and have a hard time getting out of it.

Ten years ago, I never could have imagined how much the Dave Ramsey program would change our lives. It started with a simple feeling that everything was going to be okay, which led me to discover this program. I knew immediately that it was something my husband and I could follow. As teenage parents and high school dropouts, we defeated all odds. We worked incredibly hard for 18 months and paid off our payday loans,consumer debt and our home!!!We were so excited that we started sharing the program with our family and leading Financial Peace groups. Some joined, some thought we were crazy, and some only showed up for the free food 😂. But ten years later, I understand that this program was never just about money. When my best friend and mother passed away, we were able to pay for her funeral and give her a beautiful, respectful goodbye without the added burden of a financial crisis. It allowed me to just sit and cry and reminisce on what a great mom I was lucky enough to have. She witnessed our whole debt free journey and was definitely our biggest fan! Today, my children are grown, our debt is gone, and life is financially peaceful. My 94-year-old grandmother has dementia, and my sister and I can fly states away, spend time with her, and simply be present—without worrying about what it will cost. That is what this program gave us: peace, freedom, and the ability to be there for the people we love when it matters most. I will forever be grateful for what Dave Ramsey's program has taught my husband and me. If you've just started, please stick with it. The impact goes far beyond your bank account. The ripple effect reaches your family, your children, and generations to come. It truly changed our lives. ❤️

Favorite Personality!!!! Delony Is the most valuable asset at Ramsey BY FAR. His mental health advice, redefining anxiety, and own your past change your future has changed my life for the better. Love all the Ramsey team but Dr. Delony shines bright in his own world of mental health. He also is incredibly funny and you have to love all of the Delonyisms he comes up with. ALL books Redefining Anxiety, and own your past change your future, and Building a non anxious life are in my top favorite books (own your past change your future being my #1 book I have ever read) Also, his question for humans cards are just GOLD have several decks and love them!!! It’s so fun and extremely insightful to learn new thing about family and friends! Want to add that I’m so proud of George he’s doing so amazing, loving his new YT show and I will continue to support his journey as he grows. GK and Dr. D are the absolute dream team!!!!

Been listening for a bit and appreciate most of the feedback; however, Dave can often come off with a “know it all” attitude/response based on an assumption. Listened to his take on Trusts and him indicating probate takes 10 minutes. From experience, this is untrue. Probate is not a quick process and people can contest a will. A Trust protects all assets from probate and otherwise and ensures assets go to who they’re intended to. Additionally for business purposes, while living, the trustee is often the beneficiary until they pass away. Anyway - I enjoy listening (mostly to Rachel) but might be helpful for Dave to ease up on the “know it all” attitude.

I was a long time listener of this show and sadly had to leave when Dave interviewed Trump. He does not have guests on his show and does not do political interviews. Why now? The politics and religious bullying just got too much for me and it breaks my heart because the content could be very helpful to people if it was presented in another way. For people who feel the same I suggest checking out ‘financial feminism’ podcast.. similar concepts, less bullying, misogyny, and guilt!

The show itself isn’t bad, it’s interesting to see the situations people get into and hopefully learn something. The BIG BUT is that especially in the latest episode, Ramsey really shows his political bias and age. For a man that used the government to file bankruptcy to start fresh, had the opportunity learn from his mistakes and then on top of that be able to ride on the largest market upswing and cheap housing market, he really has no self realization that maybe he isn’t the biggest genius out there when it comes to finance. He constantly complains about the taxes he has to pay as the top .1% and instead of being humble, tears people down for asking why he has issues with credit (I doubt all of his real estate holdings has no mortgage - a type credit) and constantly pushes his products to the people who can’t afford it (buy the premium version of my app / course). TLDR: Listen to the mistakes people have made and take the lessons from Ramsey with a grain of salt. Outside of that, Ignore any products they peddle, political bias, old school mentality he throws your way. You can get out debt, just be smart and make good choices!
