The GM Shuffle

Have been listening to the Shuffle since 2018. The knowledge and history of football & the League that Michael Lombardi has shared over the years has been great. What separates the Pod was it felt like friends were discussing the game over beers or at the Barber Shop. Pat brings that feeling back for sure that Adnan & Femi had to compliment Michael.

This is the best NFL podcast!!!! Each time I listen, I learn something new. Lombardi backs up his analysis with facts. He is refreshing to listen to. Unlike other shows, Lombardi does not sugar coat or give measured responses. He does not hedge. He takes a stance on a subject based on his experience as an NFL executive as well as his unsurpassed knowledge of the game. And I am a Giants fan. I love him for speaking his truth about this dysfunctional and dreadful organization. The Giants have lost their way. Unfortunately, things will continue to spiral downwards. Indeed, John Mara needs to wake up. For this upcoming season, I am looking at 3-14 record. I enjoy listening to segments about leadership. In addition, Lombardi is well read. I love when he talks about his own books as well as books about the NFL. Two suggestions: Please teach me and listeners how you watch game on TV. I have heeded your advice about muting or turning the sound low. I try to not watch the ball. I pay attention to the guards on offense. Based on if they fall back or move forward let me know whether it is a run or pass. I like to watch the DT too. Are they taking on blocks to keep the linebackers clean? When evaluating players in a game. What do you look at in a player? For a defensive back, how they move their hips? A Tackle how they use their feet? I would like to meet Mr Lombardi. We share common interests in movie and film too. I loved Bill Walsh book. Score Takes Care of Itself. I would like Mr Lombardi to start a book club segment to his pod. Ie. I love this show. Michael speaks from years of front office experience. If you love the NFL, you’ll really enjoy Michael’s black and white, no holds bar opinions. This definitely is not a G rated podcast but you will really enjoy it. P.S. I have so enjoyed the interviews with various NFL important people this summer.

I learn something about football every time I listen, and I appreciate Michael’s honesty and desire to cut through the platitudes from most football pundits and tell it like it truly is. Recommend for every football fan!

Been a listener since the ringer days. This is Mike Lombardi show. Why does Femi keep talking? Femi you’re paid to talk. You’re not paid by the word. Make your point and stop talking. Mike asked you about how Demarco Lawrence looked in camp while you visited — your response was to talk for five minutes and tell us about Demarco’s stats lastbthe few years. Eventually you got back to camp but you missed the point and never had any real insight. That’s the point. We all want Mike’s insights. Mike makes a statement and immediately you close with a word salad often parroting what Mike already said. Mike — when Bobby Beathard passed you never acknowledged. As one GM to another I feel this was a huge omission/oversight. please rate the coaches like you do the players. Also how bout a team talent ranking? I’ll raise my rating if I hear more Mike in the coming podcasts.
