As a non-economist and non-historian, it’s hard to find accessible coverage of economic history other than the occasional popular book. This format opens up a much broader set of topics from economic history for the lay listener.

If you want to dive deeper than a highly edited and condensed NPR podcast but don’t have the time or expertise to read through the academic literature, then this podcast is for you.

The content of the podcast is great: but informative interviews with knowledgeable guests on complex and interesting topics. The format is simple, just a one-on-one interview without breaks or sound effects. Yet somehow it is easy to stay engaged throughout, even if you are performing another task like driving, cooking, or cleaning.

Ep 3 had an interesting segment on the history of money. Great historical context to understand the nature of money. Recommended!

For a new podcast, this is a truly impressive production. I particularly appreciate the range of guests and topics as well as the balance between depth and accessibility.
