The Detroit Lions Podcast

by The Detroit Lions Podcast

The Detroit Lions Podcast is an independent, fan-run show covering the Detroit Lions every day — and has since 2015. Hosted by Chris with co-host and managing editor Jeff Risdon, the show breaks down every game with live post-game call-in shows, works through the roster and the schedule, and goes deep on the NFL Draft. Over 1,000 episodes in, it's one of the longest-running Lions podcasts anywhere: no corporate desk, no borrowed takes, just people who have only ever covered this one team. Whether the Lions are rebuilding or contending, we're on it — win, lose, or heartbreak. One Pride.

What listeners say

A curated, balanced selection of Apple Podcasts reviews.

This show has maintained honesty and integrity. He provides data and expertise in his takes then breaks it down in that detail. He’s the guy you’d be happy to sit and talk to about the Lions anywhere over a beer. He brings in guests and doesn’t mind disagreeing because he appreciates a different view and is willing to discuss it and ask questions. His guests are knowledgeable and he comes at the topic from all angles. This is the best Lions podcast.

Love the new format, man! Jeff Risdon *knows ball*. It is awesome to get his thoughts, unadulterated, every day. Bish and Brown and Grey are also good. One of the best Detroit Lions podcasts these days.

I have listened to your podcast for 2 years now and have always enjoyed them. I only use Apple Podcasts and don’t go other places to get content. Until now I never discovered how to rate and review a podcast, and I apologize for that. But after listening half way through Jeff’s 11/20 review of the Lions game I had to stop and leave a review. I love how Jeff recommends, in a very constructive way how the Lions need to change to improve their performance. Your in depth analysis have drove me stop and write this review. I actually had to Google how to leave an Apple Podcast review to do so. So sorry for never leaving a past review, but thank you for helping me understand the game so much better and honestly giving me hope and that the Lions still have a chance this season. While I am here, I will say that I very much miss Ash and Dr L on the podcast. I know I can seek out other ways to get their content, but there is not enough time in the day for me to listen to all the content I would love to consume. Again thanks so much for remaining on Apple Podcasts and providing such in depth and educational content. ♥️

These guys are much more fun and have better energy than some other Lions podcasts. I like their critiques and their love of Detroit sports. I’m also an impressed w their journalistic integrity and style.

PandaPopStarry · Oct 2025

The content of the actual podcast is good but for god sakes take the time to place your overbearing ads in spots that don’t interrupt your sentences. Nothing is more obnoxious than listening to some trying to make a point to have an ad interrupt whoever is talking mid sentence.

Fahrn13 · Jan 2026

Minus one star for the excessive length of most episodes, another for the relatively small percentage of football insight expressed. They have insight, lots of it, but a lot of the show is about emotional reactions, sophomoric sexual double-entendre and drinking. Minus the third star for the call-ins which are not usually worth the time and that often start with a host asking “how much have you had to drink.” Awkward. A few changes and this show could be AMAZING. GO LIONS!
