I used to be a regular listener to the UCLA channel on the 247Sports network. Unfortunately, the hosts from 247Sports network seemed to fire them, so I started looking for a new “go to” reporter. I then stumbled into this show. Dave Woods and Tracy Pierson were MUCH better than those on the 247Sports network. David and Tracy, unlike the hosts on the 247Sports network have a great chemistry. Plus they are the definitive experts of all things UCLA sports. The only thing the 247Sports network had over on3 was the Jockey giveaways. In fact I won by in part forcing Tracy to say: “I think Danny’s review is by far the best, and therefore wins the jockey gift certificate from Jockey. “ In all seriousness, I hope your on3 tenure portends a better Bruin Football product than that during your 247 career. Go Bruins!

My son and me are USC fans. I went there for six years and my dad went there before me. However, we both agree that Dave Woods is the first podcast we go to after a Bruins football game on Saturday. Yes his sarcasm these days is at its peak over. UCLA’s complete drop into football misery brings that out, but overall Dave’s takes thrill us both. He just gets it. He understands it. I’ve thought of trying to find a way to meet Dave so that I can tell him that he needs an agent because he should be on college game day. He should be on ESPN. He should be the head coach of a team or the A.D. I love Kirk Herbstreit but Dave Woods knows more about football than Kirk Herbstreit believe it or not. He’s the brightest analyst I know of in any sport. When I see Woods doing these podcasts (a great job in and of itself) I think of lost opportunity as if Walt Disney didn’t get a chance to make movies and build Disneyland, but instead owned a toy store in Burbank. I think what if Beethoven never explored his talents as a composer, but just owned a piano shop in Austria.. woods is the best kept secret in college football analytics. My hope is that he is no longer a secret. He’s too good to have anything but an infinite audience. I can’t believe some of the small minded people that host college football on ESPN, etc. Woods would make those guys seem very inadequate. Send the tape of your recent podcast to producers anywhere and everywhere. They won’t be able to not hire you.

Really, the best stuff for any UCLA football fan. Even when we’re losing, these guys help us understand why... versus the typical Bruin “we are fundamentally doomed” mentality. Keep it up guys!
