This episode, “When a Data Breach Hits” of “The Boys of Ed Tech” was one of the most authentic and important conversations I’ve heard in a long time. The discussion went far beyond cybersecurity buzzwords and got to the heart of what really matters: protecting students, educating families, and building a culture of digital safety in schools.
Amanda’s perspective as both a cybersecurity leader and parent was incredibly powerful — especially the reminder that cybersecurity is now just as important as physical safety. The conversation around digital literacy, AI, cyberbullying, sextortion, and protecting student data was honest, practical, and deeply relevant for every educator, parent, and technology leader today. Highlight: Cybersecurity is just as important as physical security in education.
I also appreciated the refreshing conversation about relationships in K-12 leadership and how authenticity, empathy, and human connection matter more than automated sales pitches and generic outreach.
Insightful, human, funny, and incredibly timely. Highly recommend this episode for anyone in education, cybersecurity, or edtech leadership.

If you’re a school leader, innovator, or edtech company, this is a must follow. With the ever changing world of edtech, these guys do an amazing job of helping to shorten the gap between “will this work for us” and “how will this improve what we do” - as a school business officer, I’m acutely aware of the funding challenges and not only are these great listens, but they’re also great resources to help connect you with the best that’s out there.
