These guys know how to tell a story!!! When I learned this was the same team that brought us the “McMillions” Documentary I had to check it out! They did not disappoint! I watched all 4 episodes of this documentary in one sitting, it was such an interesting story and they brought the same humor (where they could while not making light of the serious desperation the victims of Eric C. Conn are feeling) definitely worth listening to, and I suggest watching the documentary prior or at the same time to hear the full circle story.

This team did a wonderful job on the podcast. Compelling and informative - I binged all episodes. Looking forward to more from them!

I watched all of the show already then I found the podcast. Episode 1 of the podcast provides succinct background information about SSA, why there was a backlog of cases, and the friendship between the two whistleblowers. It also explains that SSA was beginning the process of switching from paper folders to a new electronic system.

Please just release all episodes of the podcast now so people can listen first and then watch the TV show. And listen and watch together.

I haven’t had time to watch the doc series yet, so I decided to listen to this first. I wanted to watch the doc before listening to this, but this makes me want to watch it even more! This podcast does a great job of being a standalone, but I can’t wait to re-listen to it as a companion to the doc! Great work!

This podcast stinks - it is plainly an attempt to direct people to watch their documentary series. As a result, they seem to make no effort to make the podcast narratively interesting on its own. It jumps around seemingly at random to the point where the listener has no idea how they got to a given plot point at moments. They take relatively ordinary realizations among characters and make them out to be revelatory.

They also constantly reference their documentary series in the podcast, as if it is a Ken Burns epic or something. It’s fine to mention that this is a companion podcast at the beginning of each episode, but it is irrelevant to understanding the story and they constantly interject with notes about their TV series.

There are tons of great podcasts about topics like this one that the podcasters took seriously (like Crime Town), listen to those instead.
