Supernatural Then and Now

by Story Mill Media / Realm

In 2005, Sam and Dean Winchester set off on a road trip that would save the world and change television. For fifteen seasons and three hundred and twenty-seven episodes, the CW’s Supernatural (created by Eric Kripke) took audiences on a wild ride of family, fate, and faith with a rocking soundtrack and a seriously cool car. But that was then, and now … it’s time for another ride. Join hosts Rob Benedict (Chuck Shurley/God) and Richard Speight Jr (Gabriel and director of many episodes) for Supernatural: Then and Now, a winding road trip through every episode of this iconic series, one by one, every week, with guests each episode from the cast and crew that made the wild ride possible.  Buckle up for guests including Jared Padalecki (Sam), Jensen Ackles (Dean), and Robert Singer (Executive producer), as well as many many more. What listeners say

A curated, balanced selection of Apple Podcasts reviews.

I love Supernatural, and the only thing better than replaying the episodes for myself is seeing it in the eyes of people watching for the first time. It is so fun to hear their reactions and commentary on these lovely people who they are lucky enough to call their friends. It’s also fun to listen to their speculation of what will happen next and know they are wrong, because Supernatural is wonderfully unpredictable. Admittedly, I wanted to hear from J2 behind the scenes, which this podcast delivers when it can, but I have come to love hearing about the minutiae that all comes together to make the show. It is really eye opening to find out about these talents and imagine what the show would be without their valuable contributions. It all goes to show that the entire production, and not just the J2 combo, is truly lightening in a bottle. Can’t wait to listen to more.

BIG TIME SPN fan and BIG TIME fan of this podcast. Been listening since the beginning, only just now realized how easy it is to leave a review(sorry it took so long!!) I absolutely LOVE the detail and behind the scenes magic yall get into. It truly fills the SPN sized hole in my heart!! The laughs, the unfettered reviews, the detail, everything about this is amazing! Thank you guys so much for doing this!! I love yall!!!!

Carolshuf · Apr 2025

Rob and Rich bring more of their signature charm and humor to this fun recap-rewatch-episodic review podcast. If you’ve ever watched Supernatural, this is a delightful way to get more of two awesome personalities from the cast. And if you haven’t, this is a great companion podcast to listen to as you watch the show for the first time. Finally, if you’ve ever been to a Supernatural convention, this dynamic will give you more of that satisfying feeling of being with your favorite cast for a fun hour or more. Highly recommend. Oh, and for those interested in “how the sausage is made” and behind the scenes info, you can learn SO much from the hosts and their guests who range from crew members to production designers to sound designers and engineers to directors. It’s a wonderfully insightful way to learn about the magic of episodic television production.

Write Softly · Dec 2024

I have a few (3-4) staple podcasts in my library and I don’t know what I would do without Supernatural: Then & Now. Even if I weren’t a super fan of the show, the ridiculousness and hilarity of Rich & Rob provides me with so much joy! Absolutely a must listen every week!

LetLuvRul · Dec 2024

These guys have the pull to get well know guests, but it’s hard to listen to - contrast with Ghostfacers, which is headed by two hardcore fans of the show, not a couple of guys looking for something to do during COVID. Ghostfacers is funny, witty and intelligent. Give that one a listen.
