I’ve listened to prestige for a while but with Jo and Rob it’s entered another level. The banter is just top notch. I’m at the point now where I’ll just watch the shows they cover, even if I’m not that into the show, so I can listen to them.

Joann and Rob are so fun to listen to. I like all of the hosts on here, but I set aside any time I have to watch a tv show so that I can specifically watch shows that they cover. The combination of their humor, chemistry as hosts, Joann’s English major knowledge and their combined knowledge of plot, character development and television viewership/history, is the perfect hang and a momentary escape when the world is heavy and you need an hour away from this 🤬 timeline. ❤️

I’ve always loved and followed Jo’s coverage of anything pop culture, but it feels like lately this podcast is more focused on random icebreaker topics and there’s barely any actual discussion of the show. A funny aside every now and then is great, but now every episode is so many random tangents (what’s YOUR pump up song? how do YOU eat ramen?) that I find myself hitting the skip ahead button more than I’m actually listening. Maybe the show got studio notes (Netflix style) to add more contextless clippable moments and more simple and accessible conversations for your dumb audience— but I wish it felt more like it used to (listening to smart friends really dig into great TV). TV’s one of the few joys we got these days! I don’t WANT my TV enrichment to come solely from white guy perspectives, but I’ve been defaulting to The Watch because at least they actually analyze the shows.
