I was living loving laughing like a throw pillow y’all. Choose your own adventure was especially enjoyable but your general banter, Terry’s overall input, and the ghost stories were great. Excited to hear more! Season 2 edit: I miss Aprile ☹️ Doesn’t feel like the same podcast without their banter. The guests are fine, but the interviews get boring quickly. Wishing Aprile the best, obviously we fans miss her but her health is most important!
Obviously found my way to Rattled and Shook through my all-time favorite podcast, Radio Rental. This podcast is enjoyable, and does feel like it’s related to Radio Rental. April and Meredith do have a little awkward chemistry when they banter, but they remind me of my own quirky friends so I feel like their awkwardness is adaptable. I do miss the games they used to play in earlier episodes, the discussion of irrational fears, even the choose your own ChatGPT segments — I felt like that’s what made the podcast different. Even when they took a story and created a fake movie screenplay and full cast I was picking up what they were putting down.
At first, I viewed this podcast as a B-tier Radio Rental, but over time I have come to appreciate its unique qualities. The stories tend to be a bit on the shorter side, but their quality remains high. There is a decent amount of banter between the stories, and both hosts have a fairly deadpan delivery. I found that to be a bit off-putting when I first started listening, but I have come to appreciate their unique delivery. Overall, I find this to be a fun, unique podcast to scratch that spooky story itch.
Edit: I love Meredith but I really miss Aprile. I hope she’s back soon! I love the format of this show! The mix of stories plus banter is about perfect. The hosts also aren’t trying too hard to be funny or unique - they’re just being themselves and it’s great.
I used to love this show in the first season but now something has changed and it’s more of an interview show than a spooky story show. In the most recent episode there were only two stories and the hosts didn’t even talk about the stories. I miss the old format with more stories and consistent hosts. Also, don’t share stories with Radio Rental if you want listeners to listen to both.
