Out of Office is a travel podcast hosted by us, Ryan Davis and Kiernan Schmitt. From early childhood, we were each infected with a serious case of wanderlust (among other things.)
We define travel broadly, from local day trips to high-flyin' overseas adventures. Every episode, we dig into one topic—ranging from the serious to the silly, the practical to the outlandish—and give advice on how to get out there and explore the world.

I love that you have episodes for popular destinations and hidden gems—I love traveling to a mix of both. I especially love The Last Stop (popularly known as The People’s Segment). So glad y’all have a long backlist that I can go through when I’m craving a listen. Keep doing what you’re doing, it’s awesome!

This has quickly become one of my top 10 podcasts. I have been nomading my way through South America since December 2025 and in preparation I looked up podcasts and discovered OoO. It has been useful in my trip planning. Although I learned in Buenos Aires that you can’t always trust Ryan’s restaurant recommendations. But I love the banter between these two, despite Kiernan’s obvious obsession with Ryan’s sexuality and his strange desire for Judy’s attention and affection. But all jokes aside I listen to this podcast even when I’m not interested in the location they’re covering because these two definitely bring the funny.

Ryan and Kiernan’s OOO Podcast is a perfect fix for my always dreaming of travel brain! I enjoy the structure of the podcast (banter, substance, extras) and the humor woven throughout (1/3 witty, 1/3 silly and 1/3 awkward). The analogies of “prepare for take off” and “the last stop” keep to the theme of the podcast and, when it’s time, I find myself reciting it along with them!Thank you for adding so many places to my travel bucket list and continuing to educate us on the places and cultures of the world!

I just discovered this podcast and I love it! The hosts make you excited to visit whatever place they’re talking about, and they have fun talking with each other. Each episode makes me want to book a flight somewhere and just see the world. I’m listening pretty much every day!

I hate to say this because it will be dismissed out of hand but I really enjoy the show when they talked about travel but it was a huge turn off that they had to be political and take jab at Trump almost every episode. I was looking for travel podcasts to take my mind off of things but I do not need the added commentary about politics, this would be the same if they were taking shots at Biden, so I removed them from my library and will look for a podcast that sticks to travel.
Bonus - I found a great one from Dirt in My Shoes.

As a travel lover I was happy to find another travel podcast to binge! I’ve listened to a handful of episodes that are quite interesting (I always love a ‘best of’ list) but the chit-chat at the beginning of each episode can last upward of 25 minutes!! Not a great tactic to encourage future listening.
Another HUGE turnoff is the politics!! This is a travel podcast is it not?!?? If we wanted politics, we’d find a politics podcast to tune into.
I can see that older reviews mention this as well and after listening to some more recent episodes, it’s clear that the hosts (mostly Kiernan) will continue their woke ramblings regardless of their listeners input😔 So disappointing really. Inclusivity goes both ways fellas 👍
Kiernan is actually quite a snob so I won’t miss this one! Better off listening to the great Rick Steves for actual travel content!!
