I’ve been an OJ subscriber for a long time and have found the podcast to be an excellent companion to the journal. I began listening the week the podcast was released and have listened to every episode, many more than once. Every episode has something to be learned or reminded of. Unsurprisingly, field recordings sometimes sound different from studio recordings, but the quality of the content in those particular episodes more than compensates for any reduction in audio quality.
I really like the podcast and Scott or Ashley are great hosts but I’m done listening to Matt. He is quite knowledgeable and experienced but he won’t shut up and let his guests talk. He constantly interrupts and talks over them. Not a good interviewer.
Great episode. I have done zero wiring, yet, consider me a noob; but this episode was very listenable, and confirms a lot of the best practice about which I’ve been reading. Confirmation bias aside, hearing this info from this expert was reassuring. The explanation of the interplay between the types of charging systems was especially relevant, to wit, the discussion of dc-to-dc charging systems and what to consider was cool. Oh yeah, a little feedback: There was a tiny bit clicking/tapping during some of the interview, i wonder if one of the speakers was like I am, and was tapping the desk while making points. Great podcast episode.
It’s no surprise that Matt and Scott put together an awesome show. They have so much experience and a great chemistry together. This is a must listen to get inspired and educated for adventure.
I’ve been listening to the OJ podcast for many years (and been a subscriber longer). I really enjoy the wide selection of content and the very knowledgeable and experienced guests. Unfortunately the audio capture makes many episodes nearly impossible to hear, either from bad call-in connections that break down or from not consistently speaking into the microphone causing audio volume to go from unintelligible to speaker blowing highs. I hope they can fix these issues because this podcast is great.
This show is fantastic when Scott Brady or Ashley or some of the other intriguing guests are talking. I understand the need for color commentary on a show, but Matt is atrocious. He interrupts with irrelevant, pretentious and useless comments distracting from the otherwise very informative content.
