Our Wars Have Ended

by Eskew Productions

Twenty years ago, the Kindly Ancestors rose from their graves to reconquer the lands of Old Cyshane. Today, an endless multitude of ancient kings and queens squabble and bicker for cultural supremacy. Labouring corpse-technology has swallowed up agriculture and industry. Dead-divers descend into the netherworld, searching for answers. Even as progress rolls relentlessly onwards, all of us remain helplessly bound to the past. What will it take to stop looking back? An epic, rotten-hearted weird-fantasy series from the creators of The Silt Verses and I Am In Eskew. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

What listeners say

A curated, balanced selection of Apple Podcasts reviews.

This show is incredible. Such a unique and original story, executed perfectly in every aspect. It does have something in common with the other two series I have listened to from this team, and that is that I have had some slight difficulty following along with the plot. That’s not a knock or a complaint or even a criticism, the story is very complex, there are a lot of moving pieces and characters and the scenes alternate, I think the reason that it has been a bit challenging to follow the plot is that there is a lot of time elapsed between episodes, hence the title Of my review. I also completely understand the length between episodes though, I can’t imagine the time it takes to reach a final Product of this caliber. Absolutely top tier. Looking forward to more!

The worst part of every Eskew production is (not so) patiently waiting for the next episode. There has only been two episodes proper and I’m already frothing at the mouth over the lore and world building on display.

pastelzafara · May 2026

The story, the setting, is long lived in and immersive when we are introduced to the story. If you struggle with auditory processing disorder, the transcripts are listed with every episode, and I often read them either after I have listened or follow along while listening, and it makes it much easier to understand some of the reanimated or the voices in the place that holds the conciseness of the dead.

Listened to the first two episodes. I’m a longtime fan of all the shows this team has created. The silt verses was borderline poetry and I can already tell that this is going to really be something special.
