Northern Disclosure

I really want to like this podcast because I love the show but so far there’s not much substance. Janine keeps interrupting to repeat herself without saying anything except humanity and juxtaposition. I would love to hear more stories from filming and have Rob and Janine actually talk about episode specifics. It needs more structure. Hoping it gets better…

Just finished listening to the second episode after watching “Brains, Know-How & Native Intelligence”. This podcast is a gift to NX fans old and new. I’m enjoying the insights into the characters, storylines, production, etc., but I especially love the talk of the spirituality and humanity and soulfulness that made Northern Exposure the timeless classic it has become. Thanks for this gift!

I write very few reviews, but I must say this. Tho I loved LOVED Northern exposure and I looked forward to this podcast, and I love Janine Turner and Rob Morrow… I think Ms Turner should try to tone it down a bit. She has a hard time letting others speak and it starts to become hard to listen to. Her exuberance is exhausting. Her info and opinion are great and interesting, but she answers her questions within her questions and the person being interviewed is left without being able to answer on their own. I notice that Rob Morrow can barely get to say anything. Also I want to hear more about each actual episode. I know we are just at the beginning, but these are my initial thoughts. Believe me, I feel the same when a man takes over…but for a better podcast that comprises both of your opinions and experiences, I think things should be more equitable.

I am late to the game on this show. I was too young when it came out but a few years ago basically based on the segment from the movie stay tuned I decided I would give it a shot. And it’s so great. One of the finest examples of great character writing and philosophical wonder. There is truly nothing like this show and I got way into it. As a writer myself it was a revelation. Now I get to hear the nuts and bolts of what went into every episode not from some obsessed fan but from the two greatest characters in the series!

I’ve listened to the first two episodes, and this has not so far, been a rewatch podcast at all. The conversation lacks any specific direction and little to no connection to the episode they are supposedly reviewing. Janine keeps interrupting the conversation to change the subject to talk about something or other that you can tell she is ticking off a list of talking points. Rob Morrow seems unprepared and all he does is try to respond to a too chatty Janine . All they do is talk about how great every one was without context to specific moments in the episode. They need to talk about the episode. I’m giving it one more try to see if they improve.
