What listeners say

A curated, balanced selection of Apple Podcasts reviews.

I love this podcast. Big fan of NoClip too. Getting to hear Danny have a nice chat with game developer is a true treat! I even listen to episodes that I have interest in the game just to hear these dev stories. I would have never considered trying Marvel’s Midnight Suns (it is on the queue) if not for both this podcast and the Crew casts. Keep it up!

Interview style podcast which is mercifully free from the two-friends-trying-to-fill-an-hour paradigm. Solid style and hopefully can get a little more in depth in future, I'd listen to a part two of this that dove deep into the passion for design.

The short version: excellent podcast for anyone who loves video games. If you're familiar with NoClip, then you know what you're gonna get from this podcast: high quality video game documentaries that tell the stories behind our favorite games. If you're not familiar with NoClip, believe me when I tell you it's the highest quality video game coverage out there. This podcast is hosted by Danny O'Dwyer, one of NoClip's founders. He's been in the biz for years and is one of the best interviewers out there. What I love about Danny is that he's a natural speaker and conversationalist. Too often, I start listening to a games podcast and have to turn it off because the host is a troglodyte freak that doesn't know how to have an actual conversation. Danny, on the other hand, is an articulate guy who can really engage whoever he's talking to. That skill is front and center in Dear Dwyery. What's more, the great production from Jesse Guarascia elevates these conversations to a quality I think every podcast should strive for. Harking back to the NoClip Crewcast's earlier iterations, each episode is a fully produced audio documentary. The soundscapes are subtle but transformative. Its audio is well mixed, and the background music and sounds make me feel as though I can actually see what they're talking about in the episode. Like I said, this is what every podcast should be. It's perfect for long drives, exercising, or just laying on the couch. I love listening and cannot wait to hear more. Good on you, lads.

Dear Dwyery gets 10 stars for the name, but 5 stars because here because it stands out in the gaming podcast landscape. It offers in-depth interviews with video game developers, providing listeners with a rare peek into the creative processes behind their favorite games. Danny’s engaging interview style, combined with high-quality production is informative but also compelling. It's an essential listen for anyone interested in game dev, presenting the human stories and technical insights with equal passion. Whether you're a hardcore gamer or a curious newcomer, this podcast is an enlightening and entertaining journey into the world of game development.
