Marked! - The Podcast

I am enjoying the show and love the premise. It offers alot that I am unfamiliar with that puts perspective to many of the places Ive lived and street names Ive seen. I enjoy the discussions had with the historians and archeologists along with the stories they tell. It is offering me more perspective and insight on the state but also makes me think about where and who we are at this point in time. A great thought provoking series so far. Looking forward to listening through the catalog! *Critique for consideration - I’d look at editing the show production differently as there are these abrupt tempo changes that seemingly come out of nowhere and hit you like a train when the narrator changes and the background fills with music and noise effects. It feels like two distinctly different show styles geared for different audiences cut and taped together and really jolts me out of a calm state where it’s just the narrator speaking to historians. Dial that bit back and it will flow naturally. (If I had to compare the production to a song - the one that comes to mind would be “Institutionalized” by Suicidal Tendencies lol - Great song but dang those tempo changes will getchya!)

There’s a real disconnect between people just living in Georgia and UNDERSTANDING our history. These markers aren’t just things to walk past. This series has been a helpful and fun way to fill in the blanks and mend the knowledge gash in our local heritage.

As a lifelong Georgian I am absolutely loving this podcast! The show on GPB is very good as well. Highly recommend both of them.
