What listeners say

A curated, balanced selection of Apple Podcasts reviews.

I came upon this podcast at the recommendation of a FB running group when I asked for recommendations on audiobooks I could listen to during my long runs. I explained my love of Stephen King and this podcast was recommended. I discovered this podcast during the Covid pandemic in 2020. I hadn’t picked up the Dark Tower series since I completed the series fresh out of HS in 2004. I was excited to revisit the Dark Tower and see my old friends again. Following along with a deep read listening to Matt and Scott was as best I could describe, pure joy. This podcast was everything I could have hoped for and more. I loved hearing both opinions from the seasoned SK reader to the newbie SK reader. Matt and Scott have such chemistry and camaraderie with the show, it feels like I’m right there with them hanging out talking like best friends. How I wish I could have caught up in real time to participate in the show questions. As a mom of two, I would split my audiobook time driving between what the kids were listening to and this podcast/matching book. You can imagine my disappointment when Kingslingers came to an end in 2024. The only thing I can say is that I’m current following along with The Stand (August 2022) and will undoubtedly have years of material following these two. Back to the podcast. This is is the perfect compliment to any Dark Tower related book. You won’t regret listening. Matt and Scott are awesome.

Really helpful summary and discussion when digesting the dark tower.

Mike Flanagan led me to Flanagan’s Wake (also an excellent podcast) and that led me here. This is such a joy to listen to. I tried another DT podcast - I won’t name names - but I had to stop because all they did was make fun of it and point out mistakes and problems. The thing I love about Kingslingers the most is the *reverence* you give the story. Thank you for such a fun, enjoyable trip back through one of my favorite worlds.

These guys have helped me get through even the biggest SK novels in a flash. I love King but the bigger books are intimidating and it helped have a goal for a new pod to listen to. I’m so sad yall are done with the pod but I have many more eps still to listen to. <3
