Gimme Some Truth is one of my favorite music podcasts! Host Obadiah Jones, an American musician living in the U.K., excavates and breathes new life into cold cases that come out of the history and music of The Beatles. He fills every episode with wonder, mystery, and revelation. Definitely check out episodes from the first two seasons, which contain some great nuggets. My favorite episodes focus on the opening chord of A Hard Day’s Night, the recording of Dear Prudence, the origins of the term Beatlemania, and who started the myth that Paul was dead. In the third/current season, Obadiah pulls together a group of experts to analyze a single audio tape made by Yoko Ono during the White Album sessions. It’s a wholly original contribution to Beatles lore. Highly recommended! Can’t wait for season four.

If you want to go deep down the Beatles rabbit hole this is the place to start. But even if you’re not a diehard Beatles fan, you’ll be hooked by the detective mystery format that keeps you in the edge of your seat.

One of the best Beatles podcasts out there right now. Excellent research and he doesn’t just retread the same topics the other podcasts do.

I’m going back to listen to this show. I bought and have read The Beatles 1963 at least 3 times. I so enjoyed the interviews with Dafydd Rees. Love the podcast!
