What listeners say

A curated, balanced selection of Apple Podcasts reviews.

This is my favorite podcast ever. I’m a book nerd, and I have no idea how I hound this podcast, but I’ve been listening since the pandemic. I have come to trust Annie’s recommendations, and love her thoughts on pop culture, small business and books. Each time I listen, I feel like I’m having coffee with an old and trusted friend.

NE2BoysMom · May 2026

I feel so lucky to have been to both the store and a live podcast, and also to have met Annie and her staff in person. I was really struck with today’s episode when I thought to myself “ I hope I have enough time to read all these good books!” Annie puts so much thought into her reviews and recommendations and I find myself nodding along, as if she could see me. And her humor is my kind- always in good fun. I just can’t say enough good things about this podcast and specifically Annie -and her awesome staff and store. I so look forward to Thursday when I can get another dose of literary magic. Thank you Annie! Your work matters so much!

I love this podcast so much ! Annie puts so much thought into her selections and reviews each book in a way that you know what it is really about . The books she chooses are interesting for any age ..

I’ve enjoyed listening to your podcast for a few months, but now I have a new reason to love it. I listened and laughed through your March madness episode on a walk 38 weeks pregnant and my son was born the next morning! Thank you for all the recommendations and for helping kickstart my labor!

Kristilee15 · Mar 2026

While I like the content and the participants on this podcast the poor production quality is becoming increasingly frustrating. Ads pop in the middle of sentences totally interrupting the flow. The episodes could also use some additional editing to remove repetitive comments.
