A cinematic fantasy event in audio. New Dakota: 15,000 CE, thousands of years after the fall of our civilization. The Earth has reclaimed the cities and glories of the modern world, returning humanity to a way of life that recalls advanced, ancient civilizations. The histories of the old world survive only as myths and legends. Our tale focuses on four heroes from the great tribes of what was once South Dakota. They are known as : The Wolves, The Rams, The Bears, and the Birds. Book I : The Dawn Age introduced us to the world and the heroes who we’ll follow as we chart the rise of the first Empire of this new world. Book II : The Seed of Whiterock, begins to weave our worlds and hero quests together as their destinies collide amidst the backdrop of war, natural catastrophes, inflamed rivalries, new alliances, loves and losses. All of them will be tested as the world heaves toward its new age, The Dawn Age. A place where new legends are born and a time when all things return.

There’s so much to love here! I don’t think I’ve listened to another drama that has such a good blend of unique storytelling + stellar performances. The narrator who starts each episode & does the bonus episodes is especially captivating. Hope we get another season soon!

Edit: I just listened to the season 2 finale, and holy wow what a season<3 I can’t believed we have to wait untold amount of time to see what happens!!! I’m all in!! It’s the show I put on and can listen to over and over…
I love the vocal choices made by the characters. I love hearing the wolves embody the namesake of their clan through the growling excitability. In audio worlds sound paints the picture, and those growled words push that vision through. This is a different world than the one we’re familiar with, so to some it may sound over the top, but so is the destruction and rebuilding of civilization. Allow yourself to be immersed in the new environment, the new, yet primitive, ways of being. We are all but animals after all, and not so far removed from the wild as we want to believe. Bravo to this show and all its creators. I’m so anxious for more, and to see where we are ultimately taken🐺🐻🐏🦅 Edit: this show is far from “woke”, and I’m so tired of hearing that word thrown around anytime there is anything that isn’t cis heteronormative in a story. That isn’t “woke” that’s just life. Life isn’t cis heteronormative, that’s just what cis heteronormative people want everyone to believe…

I was already in awe of season one of Birds of Empire. The first episode in season two had me 🤯the descriptive audio, the background, and the performances by the actors are absolutely amazing. My imagination as they portray their characters felt so detailed. This is by far one of the best podcast fantasies, that I’ve listened to keep it up. I can’t wait to hear more.

I loved listening this and I believe this could of been one of the podcast I’ve listened to. But, and this is a BIG BUTT! All this feels like is the set-up to a great story, like this is considered season 1? It’s nothing but set-up of each character’s arc. Was this canceled before it can truly get off the floor? This seems to be a common problem with Qcode podcast, they have a really good season 1 that set-up’s for a season 2 that never comes.
