This podcast has helped me get into the WNBA! Kristen and John make very inviting conversations to understanding the players, rules, and teams. I like their occasional guest speaker dive further into their favorite teams. Will keep listening!
Love how they break everything down so fairly. They always speak respectfully about the players and are entertaining. They play off of each other well. It’s nice to find a wbb podcast that actually understands the wnba and knows the players so they actually know what they’re talking about. Thanks guys! Love the pod.
I love it. Hosts complement each other very well. They are curious about issues. They listen to each other. If they cut in when the other is speaking the result is not the flow of the idea getting lost but rather it getting enriched (this is quite rare in podcasts I find). Excellent work!
Unlike traditional sports podcasts led by seasoned experts, this podcast takes listeners along as the hosts explore the history, teams, players, and culture of the WNBA. This has been my go to podcast since it launched, fascinated by the takes!
Found this podcast and had high hopes based on the reviews but the research needs a lot of work. I’m referring mostly to the franchise history podcasts but basic research would help. The cohosts…just started paying attention it seems? Welcome to the world of womens basketball but please attempt cursory homework. Almost celebrating their lack of knowledge (scoffing or laughing at it). Basic research like how to pronounce Tully Bevilaqua’s name (newsflash: she’s still with the Fever!), openly saying they have no idea who Jackie Stiles is (lol huh?) and then going on to make errors on the coaching records of players like Sylvia Crawley (hey guys, she was the head coach at Ohio U and Boston College, so it’s wild to say she did nothing after being an Indiana assistant and it’s easily searchable on the internet) and Vanessa Nygaard, while the host says she did nothing after her Portland playing career yet she was an assistant for the Aces under Laimbeer and prior to that she was a very successful high school coach in LA and had prominent players like Jordin Canada under her watch. I had to stop listening once they claimed Kristin Folkl was basically a nobody (newsflash she was one of the first picks for the Lynx in ‘99 and is widely considered one of the greatest female athletes to come out of St. Louis and had a wildly successful two sport career in hoops and volleyball at Stanford). Welcome to the W and women’s basketball but please respect the game enough to do the basic background research so you can avoid posting content full of errors. Thanks!
