The We Pod Econo series has been amazing. I never realized what a blind spot my music knowledge had when it comes to the underground rock scene of the 1980s. Molly and Chris do such a good job at introducing you to the music and stories of these groups too. I’ll probably be listening to bands like Minutemen and Dino Jr for the rest of my life now, and who knows how long it would’ve taken for me to get into them in lieu of this pod?

I really gave this show a solid listen of 10 episodes and was hoping for it to open up in to something great. It’s seems as if Molly does the majority of the research, and Chris just spouts off his own ‘history’ which always has this feeling of a random (unchecked) factoid he heard in his early 20’s at a bar. The amount of common knowledge facts that get bungled in this show is laughable.
